SACA MVP Overview
The SACA MVP (Most Valued Player) is a measure of all round professionalism applied to franchise players in South African professional cricket. It combines players’ on-field performances in batting, bowling and fielding in the three domestic competitions with the results players achieve in SACA’s player education programme. The onfield performances are recorded in the Standard Bank Player Rankings and this counts 50% towards a player’s final position in the SACA MVP. The remainding 50% is made up by the marks allocated to a player in the education assignments. Players are incentivised through bonus payments to strive for professionalism both on and off the field.
