A combination of a flat pitch and especially small boundaries provided the ideal opportunity for a powerful batsman to break a record at sold-out Seddon Park. And Richard Levi, playing only his second international match, took it. He hit the most sixes in a Twenty20 innings - 13 - on his way to the fastest hundred in the format, off 45 balls, and made New Zealand's 173 look at least 50 short of a par score.

Dolphins held their nerve to beat Impi in a tight game at the City Oval in Pietermaritzburg. After opting to bat, Dolphins reached a competitive score of 151 thanks to steady contributions from captain Imraan Khan (34) and Vaughn van Jaarsveld, who top-scored with 43. The pair added 59 for the fourth wicket; Dolphins were 42 for 3 at one stage. Supported by a couple of handy cameos from the middle order towards the late overs, Dolphins managed a score they were just about able to defend.

The match between Knights and Cape Cobras in Kimberley was tied after rain ended play with the scores level on the D/L method during the chase. Gayle injures groin in Bangladesh Premier League

Chris Gayle will not arrive in South Africa on Friday, as initially scheduled, to play in the domestic 20-over competition after sustaining a groin injury in the Bangladesh Premier League [BPL]. Gayle retired hurtafter scoring 30 off 16 balls for Barisal Burners against Chittagong Kings in Dhaka and was found to have damaged a muscle in his groin.
