About Saca

The South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA) is the players’ union in South African professional cricket. SACA represents the Proteas players and the players of the six regional franchise teams, on all collective issues.

The matters dealt with by SACA range from negotiation of player contracts and benefits to the management of players’ commercial rights. These matters are regulated in collective agreements entered into by SACA with Cricket South Africa (CSA) and with the six regional franchises.

The operations of SACA are run by a highly motivated team at its head office situated in Cape Town, South Africa and this team reports to an Executive Committee of players and ex-players who are elected by its members.

SACA acts as the collective voice of the players and represents the players on the board of directors of Cricket South Africa (CSA) on various cricket committees of the board. SACA is a member of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations (FICA), the global representative of world cricketers and plays an active role in the business of FICA.
