THE 7TH T20 TEAM

A Summary of How the 7th T20 Team Will Work for Players is as follows:

• Franchises select their 15 players by 27 January 2012.• All non-selected players (except Proteas players) are available for selection in the 7th Team.
• Proteas players must play for their Franchise teams if not on tour in New Zealand.
• The 7th Team selects its 15 players by 31 January 2012.  This consists of unselected Franchise players, overseas players and semi-pros.
• The 7th Team will be run by CSA and coached by Vincent Barnes and based at the high performance centre in Pretoria.  All of its games will by away matches.
• A Franchise contracted player may be called back to play for his Franchise if:
   a) a player in the Franchise team is called up for the Proteas team in New Zealand;
   b) a player in the Franchise team is injured, the injury is certified by the CSA medical committee and 36 hours notice of the call-up is given.
• If a player is called back by his Franchise he must play the next T20 match.  Thereafter he stays with his Franchise.
• If a player in the 7th Team is contracted to a Franchise or to a Province (ie Semi-Pro) then he continues to be paid his normal contract retainer amount while playing for the 7th Team.
• If a player in the 7th Team is not contracted to a Franchise or Province then he will be paid match fees of R1188 for each T20 match he plays in.
• All players in the 7th Team will be paid a daily subsistence allowance of R270 for each day he is with the 7th Team.
• The 7th Team will qualify for Champions League T20.  If you have played for your Franchise team you will be eligible to play for it in Champions League if the Franchise team qualifies.
