Wishing Greame and the boys the very best for the 20/20 World Cup in England
26 May 2009
It gives me great pleasure to write to all of you from sunny and warm England. Finally after 2 months of pretty cold and miserable weather we can play cricket in good conditions. I have to say that I have always found it hard to believe that the English invented the wonderful game of cricket in weather like this. Just when I am about to complain about the weather I realise how fortunate I am to be playing the game I love, for a living.
The winter gives most of us some time away from the game. This time can be used very wisely. We as cricketers can learn from all the successful people in the world. All successful people have one thing in common: They know where they come from, they know where they are and they know where they are going to. The off season gives us the opportunity to reflect where we came from, where we are at the moment and where we want to go to. Once this becomes clear to us we can set in motion the plans to get us to where we want to be.
I would like to wish Greame and the boys the very best for the 20/20 World Cup in England. We have had such great success in the last year that it will not surprise me if we bring the trophy home. We are already very proud of you guys and will be supporting you all the way.
